Updated: Coachella 2008 Lineup Aimed at Ravers, 15-Year-Old Boys

Guess I’m saving $250 this year. I may go Friday to catch Jens and the National, but the rest of this is an electro wasteland. Expect the 15-year-olds in full force for Roger Waters on Sunday, the California beach bums on Friday for hometown hero Jack Johnson (can you hear me choking back the vomit over here?) and Ed Banger-loving hipsters the whole weekend.

I was sooo sure I was flying back to CA this year, but there are plenty of frat parties here in NY.

portishead, cafe tacuba, and rilo kiley are popular with teenage boys? really?

  • LBJ

    and steven malkmus???

  • Dave Rawkblog

If teenage boys (and girls) aren’t buying Rilo Kiley albums, I don’t know who is.

  • Dave Rawkblog

There are good bands playing, just not enough of them and not enough big names.

Tix for $250 would be a steal try $270 plus ticketmasterrape

i’m not sure i see the electro wasteland part

looks like a lot of indie rock to me

What about Day 2? Portishead, Kraftwerk, Death Cab, MIA, Stephen Malkmus, VHS or Beta, MGMT, and Flogging Molly (guilty pleasure)… That’s a bit more than electro-crap.

  • Dave Rawkblog

I’d go for Kraftwerk and Malkmus. Not really into seeing any of the others. MIA would be cool but I kind of hate her.
